Olympique Lyonnais is at the center of a judicial case after Eagle Football Group filed a complaint against X for social asset abuse. According to available information, the internal audit conducted by the group revealed financial flows of several hundred million euros that seem to have been carried out without economic justification. The disastrous financial situation of the club had led the DNCG to relegation to Ligue 2 in first instance, on June 24, 2025. Lyon was finally reprieved on appeal, following, among other things, the departure of Textor, replaced by Michele Kang on June 30, and finished 4th in the last Ligue 1 season.
